This Privacy Policy describes how Baker Street Funding, LLC (“Baker Street Funding,” “we,” “us,” or “our“) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our websites, contact us, or use our services. This Policy applies to information we handle in the United States.

Plain-English summary (not a contract): We collect only what we need to evaluate and provide legal funding and to operate our business. We don’t sell your personal information. We use service providers under contract to help us run our services, and we take safeguards seriously. Your rights and choices are described below.


1) Scope

This Policy covers personal information we process regarding:

  • Visitors to our websites and online properties (the “Sites”);
  • Prospective clients, existing clients, law firms, attorneys, and corporate claimants; and
  • Job applicants and business contacts.

This Policy does not cover information processed by third parties you interact with directly (e.g., your attorney, social media platforms) or information that is publicly available.

We direct our services to U.S. residents in eligible jurisdictions. 


2) Personal information we collect

Depending on your relationship with us and how you interact with the Sites, we may collect:

  • Identifiers & contact details: name, postal address, email, phone, state of residence, IP address or other device identifiers.
  • Professional & case information: attorney/law firm details, matter type and status, defendant/insurer information, court/venue, claim value estimates, retainer/contingency status.
  • Financial information: settlement/award information, funding requests, payment details, bank account details needed to disburse funds.
  • Government ID / sensitive documents: driver’s license, SSN, tax ID, medical or billing records relevant to a claim, police/incident reports, where necessary to underwrite a request. We treat these as sensitive and limit use to the purpose for which they were collected.
  • Commercial & support records: communications with us, preferences, documents you upload.
  • Internet/technical information: log data such as pages viewed, timestamps, referrers, and cookie/analytics data used to secure and improve the Sites (see Cookies & Analytics below).

We collect this information directly from you, from your attorney or law firm (with appropriate authorization), from public/legal records, and from service providers (e.g., identity verification, analytics, anti-fraud, and hosting partners).


3) How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Evaluate and provide non‑recourse legal funding and related services you request;
  • Communicate with you and your counsel, answer inquiries, and provide support;
  • Verify identity, prevent fraud, and ensure security of our Sites and systems;
  • Operate, analyze, and improve the Sites and our services, including quality assurance and internal reporting;
  • Comply with law and enforce agreements, including to respond to lawful requests and to protect the rights, property, and safety of clients and staff;
  • Recruiting and hiring (for job applicants).

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information (such as SSN or medical records we receive for underwriting) for purposes other than those permitted by applicable law (e.g., to provide requested services, ensure security, prevent fraud, short‑term transient use, or as otherwise authorized by you).


4) How we disclose personal information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Your attorneys or authorized sales representatives, as needed to evaluate or administer a funding request.
  • Business partners, investors, and outside counsel.
  • Authorities and legal process (e.g., to comply with law, subpoenas, court orders, or to protect against fraud, abuse, harassment or security threats).

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws (including “sale” or “sharing”/“targeted advertising”). We also do not knowingly allow third parties to collect personal information on our Sites for their own advertising purposes.


5) Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the Sites (e.g., session management, fraud prevention), and to understand usage (e.g., page performance, aggregate analytics). You can control cookies via your browser settings. If you block cookies, some features may not work.

Where required by law, we will honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for applicable opt‑outs.

We do not use third‑party advertising cookies on our Sites.


6) Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, role‑based access, vendor diligence, logging, and employee training. No system is perfectly secure; please use caution when transmitting information.


7) Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide services, comply with legal/record keeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We apply criteria such as matter status, legal holds, and statutory requirements when determining retention periods.


8) Your privacy rights (U.S. state laws)

Depending on your state of residence (e.g., California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia), you may have the right to request:

  • Access/know the categories or specific pieces of personal information we collected about you;
  • Correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Deletion of personal information (subject to legal exceptions);
  • Portability of certain information;
  • Opt‑out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising (which we do not engage in);
  • Limit use/disclosure of sensitive personal information (which we already limit to permitted purposes).

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may have the right to appeal a decision if we deny your request.


9) How to exercise your rights

Please provide your name, contact information, relationship to us, the right(s) you wish to exercise, and the state where you reside. We will verify your identity using reasonable methods (e.g., matching information we already maintain). You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf, subject to verification of the agent’s authority.

 Transactional or service messages may still be sent.


10) Children

Our Sites and services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.


11) Prohibited uses & anti‑harassment notice

Use of our Sites is subject to our Terms of Use. Harassment, doxxing, scraping, evading access controls (including via VPNs/proxies/automation), or solicitation of others to contact or review‑bomb us is prohibited. We may revoke access and preserve logs to enforce our rights and protect users.


12) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top indicates when the Policy last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page, and we may provide additional notice where required by law.

14) California privacy notice (CPRA)

Notice at collection. We collect the categories of personal information listed in Section 2 for the purposes in Section 3. We retain information as described in Section 7. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA and do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by §1798.121.
